A place you come to, return to, and linger in

Grown from the ground in 2020

In 2020, Esther Vieille, Anthony Chouchan and Matthieu Hernandez turned a former neighbourhood bar into a living room for the street. Des Terres opens from morning until late — for coffee, lunch, a shared bottle, dinner, or simply staying a little longer.

03

A living menu

In the kitchen, the team shapes each day’s cooking around arrivals, seasons and the mood of the moment. Fish, meat, vegetables, pasta, sauces, condiments and desserts follow one another without locking Des Terres into a single register.

01

Products of the moment

Seasonal modern French cooking — generous and open to the day’s influences.

02

Cooking and sauces

Plates keep a taste for produce, precise cooking and clear sauces.

03

Open influences

Contemporary bistro cooking, attentive to vegetables, fish and dishes made for sharing.

04

Seasonal desserts

Fruit, soft finishes and sweets that follow the market like the rest of the menu.

The menu evolves with the seasons, arrivals and the kitchen’s inspiration. Call the restaurant to hear what’s on that day.

04

Neighbourhood lunch

At lunchtime, Des Terres offers a focused set menu built around the market and the day’s produce. Ambitious cooking, served without ceremony, priced for the neighbourhood.

In the evening, build your table

At dinner, the menu opens up. Cooked plates, larger pieces to share, charcuterie, cheese and bottles let the meal grow with appetite, company and the mood of the night.

07

Wines with their own voice

The cellar at Des Terres gives centre stage to growers who work with few inputs and plenty of character. A selection largely focused on natural, organic and low-intervention wines.

You don’t need to know the domaines or appellations. The team advises according to the plate, the craving and the budget.

08

Esther, Anthony and Matthieu

Esther Vieille, Anthony Chouchan and Matthieu Hernandez imagined Des Terres as the bistro they wanted to go to: lively, generous, open to the neighbourhood and shaped by a real wine culture.

The design, the welcome, the cooking and the cellar belong to one idea: a place you come to as much for the plate as for the pleasure of staying.

Brick, tesserae and glass pavers

The room keeps the spirit of a true neighbourhood bistro: brick walls, old floors, mismatched furniture, bottles within reach and light that shifts through the day.
